Bayerisches Staatsministerium für Wissenschaft und Kunst Impact Creators Program “We show you how you can use your idea to make a lasting change to society, the economy and the environment. You can either work on your own (start-up) idea as part of a team or collaborate with others. Through our program, you will become part of an interdisciplinary community and network in your team and beyond with people who tick just like you and bring different perspectives and expertise to the table due to their choice of studies.” Link
Bavarian Research Alliance European Innovation Council (EIC) Programme to promote long-term innovative and risky ideas with European added value. As SME funding under Horizon Europe, it covers the entire innovation chain. Link
Bavarian Research Alliance EIC Pathfinder The EIC Pathfinder aims to implement radically new technology concepts in the long term. Both open-topic and topic-specific calls are planned for the 2021 work period. Link

Bavarian Research Alliance EIC Accelerator The EIC Accelerator is the funding instrument for innovative small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). It is part of the European Innovation Council (EIC) programme and consists of two variants: “Accelerator Open” (bottom-up) and “Accelerator Challenges” (top-down). Link
Bavarian Research Alliance EUREKA Eurostars EUREKA Eurostars is a European funding initiative for innovative small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), part of the European Partnership on Innovative SMEs. This partnership is co-funded by the EU through Horizon Europe. The funding supports the development of an innovative product, process or service, with the aim of commercialising the results after completion of the project. Link
Bavarian Research Alliance The DIGITAL Europe Programme The DIGITAL Europe Programme improves European competitiveness in the digital economy and promotes technological independence through investment and innovation. Within the framework of “Digital Europe”, capacities for new technologies are being expanded, thus accelerating the digital transformation. Bavarian Research Alliance Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs is a cross-border exchange programme that gives new or aspiring entrepreneurs the chance to learn from experienced entrepreneurs running small businesses in other Participating Countries. The stay is partly financed by the European Commission. Link
Bavarian Research Alliance IraSME IraSME is a network of ministries and funding agencies which are owners or managers of national and regional funding programmes for cooperative research projects between small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and with participation of research and technology organisations (RTOs). Against the background of growing competition in global markets, IraSME supports SMEs in their transnational innovation activities, helps them to acquire technological know-how, extend their networks and bridge the gap between research and innovation. Bavarian Research Alliance Connecting Europe Facility (CEF2) Digital Connecting Europe Facility (CEF2) Digital strengthens investments in digital infrastructures from 2021 to 2027, in particular for cross-border connectivity and in socio-economic areas such as schools and hospitals, but also to increase the EU’s competitiveness. Bayern innovative BayTOU The Bavarian program for the promotion of technology-oriented business start-ups – BayTOU, supports company founders and young companies in the development of new products, processes and technical services. Link
Bayern innovative BayTP+ The Free State of Bavaria supports research and development and innovation in the field of general technologies under this program. The funding is intended to enable companies to develop technologically new products and processes and to facilitate the application of modern technologies in products and in production. Link
Bayern innovative FLÜGGE The Bavarian funding program FLÜGGE (funding program to support the easier transition to a start-up existence) aims to support start-ups from universities in Bavaria in the areas of innovation, research and technology. Link
Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Klimaschutz (BMWK) ZIM ZIM funds innovative companies with business operations in Germany which want to develop new or significantly improve existing products, processes or technical services. Public and private non-profit research and technology organisations (RTOs) acting as a cooperation partner of an SME are also eligible for ZIM funding. The programme is open to all sectors and fields of technology. Funded projects must be highly innovative, market-oriented and entail a substantial technological risk. Link

BayStartUP Businessplan Wettbewerb Nordbayern Since 1998, the Business Plan Competition Northern Bavaria has been the first start-up competition in Germany aimed specifically at founders in the region so that they can successfully establish themselves on the market. Start-ups from Franconia and the Upper Palatinate have the opportunity to submit their business concepts in three competition phases. This is not just about cash prizes for the winners. All participants benefit from expert feedback, workshops and contacts with network partners right from the start. Link

FAU The Digital Tech Academy The Digital Tech Academy is the overarching HUB for digitization and entrepreneurship at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. It is embedded into the university department of strategic planning S-Outreach as ‘Knowledge and Technology Transfer’ which is the single point of contact for Spin-off services, Joint R&D projects, IP management, continuing education and event management.
